Blue Macadamia EDK

$1,650.00

Here for your consideration is an exceptionally fine Blue Macadamia EDK > Every Day Kitchen

Of all the Every Day Kitchen Creations I have made over the years, this one stands apart with it’s modified step-blade and the way the bolster-laminate and matching inlay echo the hard grain in the exceedingly gorgeous Macadamia Wood handle. The overall aesthetic being very positive to say the least:)

The EDK has become a mainstay in my line-up for many years now; primarily because it’s a smaller knife that can do almost everything a larger knife can do! These are popular due to the fact that they have knuckle-clearance over the cutting board so you can do all the traditional detail-cuts in the culinary realm, while remaining a smaller semi-compact knife that is still adequate weight and presence for the majority of food preparation in just about any kitchen. In a professional kitchen it would excel as a line knife for doing detail cuts for service.

Overall Length of this knife is: 11 & 5/16”

The blade exhibits a cutting edge of 5 & 11/16 and is 6” tip to the front of the Handle.

Blade depth is 1 & 5/8”

This build is quite striking and unique. Macadamia wood is a new wood to me. it is very dense and tough, has a warm and amazing feel and this particular piece being dyed and stabilized just is exceedingly gorgeous. This build features a Bolster-laminate of vintage G-7 and very close matching G-10 inlay and single silicon bronze pin, which as mentioned above, resonate uniquely well with this wonderful Macadamia Wood. I have included a few extra images form me studio bench where the lighting was different so you could get a sense of the depth of the color in the handle.

The blade steel is 52100 carbon steel at a Rockwell of 59-60. The blade geometry is convex and very keen at the edge yet tough and able to hold up for generations of use. Comes with one of my trademark fabric saya and certificate and care instructions; all in a zippered pouch for safe travels and to keep the knife in if you so choose when not in use.

I will share that, the feedback Ive had from other EDK owners is that; these become their “Go-To” knife, that get used Every Day, which is how it got it’s namesake;) So this not so little knife will find it’s way into your daily cooking practice in a comfortable and welcoming way and look really awesome along the way!
